PLEASANTON — After two straight losses, Crest High’s Lancers got back into the win column Thursday.
The Lancers bounced host Pleasanton High’s Blu-Jays 54-30. The Jays had a 12-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.
“We had one bad quarter and played three really good quarters of basketball,” said Travis Hermreck, Crest head coach.
Crest poured in 48 points over the next three quarters. The Lancers gave up only 18 to the Jays in that time frame.
“We used our defense to make it a full-court game. We attacked the basket against their zone in the final three quarters,” Hermreck said.
The Lancers improved to 5-1 in Three Rivers League play. They are 11-5 overall with a non-conference game at home tonight against Hartford.
They have three games at home next week to finish out the regular season.
“That’s going to be really good,” Hermreck said.
Jordan Morton tossed in 19 points for Crest. Kyle Hammond had 12 points.
Joey Morrisey and Reid Hein had seven points each for the Blu-Jays.
Pleasanton won the junior varsity game 36-16. Jesse Boone had eight points for Crest.
