COLONY — The home court was a friendly one Friday night for Crest High’s basketball teams.
The Lancer boys were dominant defensively, rolling to a 55-25 victory over visiting Oswego.
And in girls action, the Lady Lancers’ Aubree Holloran poured in 27 points in a 47-39 win.
Holloran also added eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Other key players were Lindsay Godderz, seven points and six boards, Kayla Hermreck, four points and 17 rebounds, and McKenna Hammond scored three points.
Mae Albertson scored 17 to lead Oswego.
As for the boys, Oswego pushed to slow the pace to a crawl.
“We wanted to play fast, so it felt like we were stuck in mud all night long,” Crest head coach Travis Herrmeck said. “Offensively, we were a little sluggish, but I was pleased with our defensive effort. We rebounded the ball very well and did a good job forcing tough shots and limiting them to only one shot, both things we had been struggling with at that end of the floor.”
Crest led 11-3 after one quarter, 14-7 at halftime and 40-21 after three. The Lancers then ended the game on a 15-4 run.
Tyson Hermreck and Kobey Miller shared high score honors with 18 points apiece, while Miller had 11 rebounds to Hermreck’s nine. Both dished out four assists.
Stetson setter had seven points and 11 boards. Keaton Davis scored five, Stratton McGhee, Karter Miller and Ethan Godderz all had two and Jack White scored a point. Karter Miller had four steals to Kobey Miller’s three.
Crest is back in action at home Tuesday against Pleasanton. Homecoming ceremonies will be a part of the evening.
