Lady Wildcats go 2-1 at Hartford tournament

The Marmaton Valley volleyball team competed in its second tournament of the season on Tuesday.
The Lady Wildcats (4-3) traveled to Hartford and went 2-1 to beat the host and Crest in two sets while falling in two sets to Madison.
In the opening match, Marmaton Valley rode a very impressive performance from Bailey Griffth who scored 16 points in their 2-0 (25-22, 25-9) win over Hartford. Trinitee Guiterrez also pitched in seven kills.
In their second match, the Lady Wildcats fell 2-0 (25-17, 25-15) to Madison. Griffith and Megan Ensminger pitched in three kills apiece.
Finally, Marmaton Valley finished the tournament with a 2-0 (25-17, 25-13) win over Crest. The win is the second of the season for the Lady Lancers and it was Guiterrez leading the way for her team in the kill column with 7 with Clara Boyd chipping in 11 points.
On the junior varsity side, Marmaton Valley also went 2-1 getting their wins over Crest,v 2-0 (25-10, 25-16) and Hartford, 2-1 (17-25, 25-15, 15-10) while falling to Madison 2-1 (13-25, 25-17, 10-15).
Haylee Meiwes recorded 10 aces throughout the three matches and Kaylee Becker had 15 aces.
The Lady Wildcats will head Eureka on Tuesday for their next meet.
