LE ROY-It was a tough night for Southern Coffey County High basketball teams as both the girls and boys lost nail biters against Hartford High Friday at home.
After a seesaw battle that resulted in a 48-48 tie at the end of regulation, the Titan boys took the fight to overtime. But the Titans ran out of steam as they fell to the Jaguars 56-55.
The Lady Titans night wasn’t any more fortunate. After starting slow and committing a handful of turnovers early in the game, Southern Coffey County battled back but fell in the end 38-33 to the Hartford girls.
Leading Titans in the losing effort was Aaron True with 15 points and KeWade Seabolt with 14 points.
The Jaguars boys’ leading scorer was Lane Ikerd with 15 points.
Ashton Isch led the Lady Titans with 12 points and five steals. Teammate Sarah Webb led the team with eight rebounds.
