The Crest High School Lady Lancer Track and Field Team took the Uniontown Invitational by nearly 50 points in the opening meet of 2025.
While other local teams finished in the middle of the pack of Tuesday’s debut meet, the Lady Lancers set themselves apart from the crowd with several team and individual performances.
Crest finished in the top five in nearly every category. Crest junior Kinley Edgerton played a role scoring many of the Lady Lancers’ points. She took first in the javelin and assisted the 100-meter relay team composed of Kamrynn Jones, Adayrean West and Hanna Schmidt take second place.

In the 400 relay, Jones, West, Kim Coleman and Kellei Robb took second, and Robb, Aubrey Allen, Peyton Schmidt and Josie Walker took second in the 800 relay. Individually, Peyton Schmidt, Robb and Hanna finished first, second and third respectively in the 3200.
Schmidt took second in the 100-meter dash and the 100 hurdles. In the 800, Peyton Schmidt took second and Josie Walter took third. Walter also took second in the 1600.
In field events, Hannah Schmidt took second in the long jump, freshman Summer Valentine took fifth in the shot put and fourth in discus.
Humboldt finished sixth with standout performances from junior Laney Hull. She finished first in the 300 hurdles, followed by fourth-place teammate Addisyn Drake. Hull was third in the 100 hurdles, followed by Drake again in fifth place.
Hull took second in high jump, setting a school record with a 5-foot leap. She also finished fifth in the 100. Freshman Willow LaCrone took first in the 200.
Marmaton Valley took seventh thanks in part to senior Piper Barney, who took first in the long jump, second in the triple jump and fourth in the 400. Junior Kylah Sanders took third in the 200, and assisted the 100 relay team composed of Khlana Haynes, Sophia Helm, Evva Sanders to take fifth. Sophomore Taylor Blevins took fifth in the javelin.
As for Yates Center, the Wildcats took ninth but not without a few highlights from the field. Sophomore Jada Rice took first in the shot put, followed by freshman teammate McKynzee Burkholder. Sophomore Jaylin Birk took third in the 1600 and freshman Karla Pilgrim took fifth in the 400.
