The Allen Community College volleyball team (0-10) found progress in defeat over the weekend as they went 0-4 during the Highland Tournament at Highland Community College.
It wasn’t all bad news though. After losing 23 sets in a row going into the second match of the tournament, the Lady Devils finally got over the hump as they won set three of their match with Ellsworth Community College 26-24.
Allen opened up the tournament versus North Platte Community College and fell 0-3 (16-25, 13-25, 11-25).
Allen then took on the aforementioned Panthers falling 3-1 (22-25, 13-25, 26-24, 18-25) but grabbing that first set win.
The Lady Devils got their second set in the next match and nearly missed out on a third as they fell 3-1 (18-25, 25-23, 20-25, 29-31).
They closed the tournament by falling 3-0 to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.
Up next, Allen will stay on the road to take on Neosho County Community College on Wednesday.
