JUCO Softball: Allen Co.
The fifth-seeded Allen County softball team wrapped up their season on Saturday in the opening round of the NJCAA Region VI, Division II softball tournament versus 10-seed Coffeyville.
The Lady Devils lost game one 11-8 before falling in game two 9-8. With the losses, they end their season with a record of 21-26 and 12-10 in league play.
Allen County allowed the Ravens to score four runs in both the fourth and the sixth innings to run away with game one and in game two, an eight-run sixth inning stole what was a 6-1 lead for the Lady Devils.
Both third-baseman Chelsea Lake and left-fielder Chelsey Henry led Allen County with two hits in the first game and in game two, pitcher Sierra Thompson was the lone Lady Devil to have a multi-hit game but both she and Henry homered.
Going into the offseason, Allen County will look to replace seven sophomores who will graduate off of the 2017-18 squad.
