Lady Devils hold their own at away soccer and volleyball matches

FORT SCOTT — The Lady Devils traveled to Fort Scott for a four-match tournament against conference opponents Labette, Neosho, Fort Scott as well as Seminole State. Against Neosho, the ladies took the first set, but ultimately fell in four sets. 

The Lady Devils were able to pull off three-set sweeps against Labette and Seminole State. In the final match, the ladies fell to Fort Scott to finish the weekend with a 2-2 record. Up next is an away match against Ottawa University 7 o’clock tonight.

Women’s soccer

Kicking off their season, the Lady Devils faced the number seven team in the nation in Lewis and Clark Community College. The ladies’ backline was exposed for three goals in the first half, and things got worse in the second half.

The ladies gave up five more goals to cap the 0-8 loss. 

It was a tough task for the Lady Devils, but they were able to use that loss as motivation for a 4-2 victory over St. Charles Community College. 

Next up for the Lady Devils is an away match at Tabor College on Wednesday.
