Freshman Ariel Walker continued her impressive play with 16 points.

Another possible winning effort for the Allen women’s basketball team fell apart on Monday with an 88-62 loss at Dodge City.

The Lady Devils fall to 2-12 and 0-5 in Jayhawk Conference play. The loss is their 11th-straight.

Going into Monday’s game, the Allen women knew that their defensive focus needed to be on forcing the Conquistadors to beat them from outside and for the most part throughout the first half, that was successful.

The Lady Devils trailed 15-14 after the first quarter and a 28-21 second quarter put ACC in a manageable eight-point hole heading into the half.

That deficit only grew in the second half as fatigue took its toll and second-chance points started to rack up for Dodge City.

The Lady Conqs outscored Allen 25-15 in the third quarter to boost their lead to 67-50.

Dodge City closed out the game with a 21-12 fourth quarter to wrap up the win.

Freshman Ariel Walker continued her impressive play with 16 points followed by 13 for freshman Paige Jensen and 12 for sophomore Jakira Wilson.

The Lady Devils will be off on holiday break until they open the spring semester at home with a non-conference game versus Connors State. Earlier in the year, Connors State beat the Lady Devils 60-57 at home in Oklahoma.

The game will be the first of three-straight home games to start the semester.
