BURLINGTON — Humboldt High’s Lady Cubs lost a Tri-Valley League doubleheader at Burlington Monday.
Burlington High’s Wildcats blanked the Lady Cubs, 7-0, in the first game. Melissa Davidson gave up five hits and walked four. She struck out two as the losing pitcher.
Kylee Carson had two singles for Humboldt. Kayle Riebel had a single.
Burlington won 3-1 in the second game. Davidson took the loss, allowing seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts.
Hannah McCall had a double and a single. Carson and Taylor Fitzmaurice each hit a single. Fitzmaurice and McCall each had two stolen bases.
“Our batting was not very good as Burlington’s pitcher did a great job,” said Brad Piley, Humboldt head coach.
“We still have a lot of work to do to get better.”
There was no report on the Humboldt-Burlington baseball games by deadline.
