NEODESHA — Humboldt High’s Lady Cubs struggled to put complete matches together in Saturday’s Neodesha High Invitational.
“We played well for a set but were never able to sustain it for a whole match,” said Stephanie Splechter, Lady Cub head coach.
Humboldt lost six matches and completes regular season play Tuesday at Burlington.
Baxter Springs beat Humboldt 25-12, 25-15. Melissa Davidson had five kills and Brandi Malloy had three kills. Amanda Maxton put up eight set assists.
Fredonia defeated Humboldt 25-17, 25-10. Davidson put down two kills and Maxton had four assists.
Caney Valley downed the Lady Cubs 25-15, 27-25. Davidson delivered four kills while Hannah McCall and Malloy each had three kills. Maxton had eight assists.
Humboldt lost to Parsons in three sets, 22-25, 25-8, 25-13. Davidson posted six kills and three service aces. Malloy had six kills and Kindahl Young had four kills.
Maxton was credited with 13 set assists. McCall put up three blocks at the net.
Neodesha beat Humboldt 25-21, 25-14. Davidson and Malloy had four kills each. Maxton had five assists.
Southeast-Cherokee defeated Humboldt 25-14, 25-14. Davidson had five kills and four blocks. McCall downed two kills.
