HUMBOLDT — Humboldt High’s Lady Cubs had a “rough night” against the Cherryvale Chargers Friday night in a 54-28 loss.
Head Coach Sherri Nelson attributed the loss in part to the Cubs’ turnovers. They had 19 for the contest.
“We need to do a better job of taking care of the ball,” Nelson said.
Breanna Kline led the scoring with seven points, Sheri Middleton contributed six and Karsyn Menzie had four.
Menzie had six rebounds, Middleton had five and Lakota Wilson had four. Kline led in steals and assists with three each.
Nelson said the team needs wins in next week’s midseason tournament at Pleasanton to get their season where it needs to be.
“We need to get a couple wins at the tournament to get back on track,” Nelson said, “and finish the second half of the season strong.”
