Junior High Wildcats open track season

The Marmaton Valley Junior High track team was in Pleasanton Monday. The seventh- and eighth-grade girls were fourth and third, respectively.

The seventh-grade girls were led by the first-place medley relay team of Janae Granere, Raveyn Kegler, Na’Sha Gregory and Payton Scharff. 

Granere also finished first in the 400 and first in the long jump. 

Kegler finished fourth in the 400, Gregory placed fourth in the 200 and fifth in the 75-meter hurdles and Scharff placed fifth in the 100-meter dash.

The eighth-grade girls didn’t have a first-place finish but plenty of other top-three finishes including their medley relay team of Madison Lawson, Kaitlyn Drake, Roslyn Houk and Tayven Sutton who took second. 

Lawson finished second in both the 100 and 200 and Drake took third in the 100. 

Houk was third in the high jump and fifth in the 100 and Sutton was third in the 400 and fourth in the long jump.

Mary Brown took third in the 3200, Gracie Yoho took fourth in the 800 and fifth in the discus and Bailey LaRue finished fourth in the shot put.  

On the boys’ side, Evan Kent took second in the discus and third in the shot put and Daniel Fewins took fourth in the shot put.
