Iola High’s Tyler Boeken added to his trophy case this season.

Boeken, who earned all-league football honors as a junior and senior for the Mustangs, brought in his first individual honor for basketball.

The 6-3 senior forward earned second team All-Pioneer League honors for his work during the 2021-22 season.

Boeken, a two-year starter, averaged 12.5 points and 9.7 rebounds per game for the Mustangs.

He was critical to Iola’s late-season surge, in which the Mustangs won four of their final five regular-season games, averaging 15 points during the stretch.

Iola (6-15) bowed out in the Class 4A Substate Semifinals against the eventual state champions Bishop Miege Stags.
