Chilly, spring-like temperatures greeted Iola swim team competitors Wednesday at Riverside Park as the Seahorses opened the 2013 summer season hosting Independence. The Seahorses will host future meets on Wednesday against Erie, June 19 against Cherryvale and July 17 against Fort Scott. The Southeast Kansas League meet will be July 26 and 27 at the Chanute Municipal Pool. At right, Iola’s Emma Piazza competes in the backstroke.
