Iola JV football defeats Burlington

On Monday night, Iola High School’s junior varsity football team hosted Burlington and came away with a 44-30 victory.
The Mustangs were led by freshman running back Tayton Driskel, who ran for a team-high 256 yards on just 16 carries. Four of his attempts led him to the end zone.
Sophomores Nik Peterson and Ethan Holloway scored Iola’s other two touchdowns.
Peterson scored on the ground while also earning 56 rushing yards on five carries. Holloway’s one reception on the day from freshman quarterback Kane Rogers went for 50 yards and a score.
Rogers’ touchdown throw was his only completed pass of the game, finishing 1-for-3.
Sophomore Cale Barnhart was Iola’s third-leading rusher with 36 yards on six attempts.
