CHANUTE — The Iola Seahorses wrapped up the 2013 season July 26-27 at the Southeast Kansas League meet in Chanute, bringing in several top finishes in the process.
Eight Iola swimmers finished in the top 10 of their individual age groups, spearheaded by Emma Piazza, who finished third in the 15-18 girls, and Fryendz Wallace, who was fourth in 15-18 boys.
Other top finishers for Iola were Autumn Johnson, fifth, 11-12 girls, LeRoi Johnson, fifth, 11-12 boys, Della Lohman, fifth, 13-14 girls, Megan Klubek, eighth, 13-14 girls, and Michael Wilson, ninth, 15-18 boys.
Iola also placed four swimmers in the top 10 of the B division, led by Karly McGuffin’s first-place finish in the 13-14 girls group.
Everett Glaze was eighth at 6-and-under boys, while Jordan Strickler was ninth in 15-18 boys. Ryan Hildebrand also was ninth at 9-10 boys.
Also competing in the B division for Iola were Carter Hutton, 19th, and Kendall Glaze, 22nd, in 7-8 boys; Olivia Kerr, 19th, 9-10 girls; Ty Sellman, 19th, 11-12 girls; Spencer Ames, 11th, 11-12 boys; Trinity Hildebrand, 10th, 13-14 girls;
The Seahorses A team finished sixth overall with 173 points. The B team finished eighth overall with 97 points.
Humboldt’s swim team also wrapped up it season at the SEK meet.
Humboldt’s A team finished eighth with 82 points, while its B team was sixth at 211.5 points.
Individually for Humboldt in the A division, Harper Schoendaller was fifth and Emma B’Hymer 10th at 6-and-under girls; Morgan Sterling was third, Anna Goforth eighth in 7-8 girls; Melanie Hallacy was 12th at 11-12 girls; Joseph Kline was third at 13-14 boys.
In the B division for Humboldt, Mia Wright was first in 6-and-under girls, while Ayssa Goforth was 10th; Robbie Robinson was seventh at 6-and-under boys; Hunter Morgan was 20th and Laken Hunter was 22nd at 7-8 girls; Cooper Schmidt was 17th in 7-8 boys; Kirstyn Murrow was third and Isabell Murrow and Gabi Jackson tied for 19th at 9-10 girls; Drew Schoendaller was 14th in 9-10 boys; Connor Haviland was first and Calvin Schoendaller eighth at 11-12 boys; and Tristan Bruneaugh fist, Kalob Cleaver second and Tim Vaughn 16th at 15-18 boys.
