Allen Community College’s Red Devil golf team had a tough go on two courses in one tournament over the weekend.
The Red Devils competed in the Bethel College Spring Invitational.
The 24-team field played 18 holes at Hesston’s golf course on Saturday then 18-holes at Newton’s Sand Creek Station course on Sunday.
Allen finished tied for 19th with Western Oklahoma Community College. Both teams finished with a score of 685.
Bethany College won the tournament, one stroke in front of Dodge City Community College, 591 and 592.
“We continue to be very inconsistent both individually and as a team,” said Mike Hayes, ACC golf coach. “Jacob Weber has been our best player so far this spring.”
Weber carded a 164 (81-83) tying for 64th. Clinton Moore ended up tied for 91st with a 172 (85-87) as did Chase Tjelmeland (88-84). Chad Schmidt shot a 173 (81-92).
Seth Walden finished with a 181 (89-92) and Tyler Roth had a 183 (96-87).
Allen goes to the Jayhawk Conference designated No. 5 tournament April 15-16 at Salina County Club.
