BURLINGTON — Iola Middle School’s wrestlers were at the Burlington Middle School Cat Classic Monday to open their 2023 season.
Results follow:
Jimmy Maloney went 0-3, falling in a 12-8 decision to Braedon Bucke of Eureka and via falls to Levi Hazen of Burlington in 2:21 and Bryer Russell of Osawatomie in :42.
Braylon Kelly went 1-2, losing by fall to Trevor McCoy of Wellsville in 1:30 and Marshall Wright of Burlington in 1:51. Keithly defeated Ryker French of Santa Fe Trail by fall in :21.
Kolten Drake went 0-3, losing by fall to Colton Whitaker of Osawatomie in 1:26, to Cash Escareno of Eureka in :56 and Envy Oberbeck of Humboldt in :53.
Hunter McDaniel went 1-2, falling to Kaeden Sexton of Erie by fall in :46 and by decision to Dawson Burke of Wellsville, 5-4. McDaniel pinned Ace Ensign of Jayhawk-Linn in 1:08.
Kevon Loving went a perfect 3-0, defeating Adrian Ramirez of Santa Fe Trail with an 11-4 decision and by pinning Landon Totten of Anderson County in :27 and Tate Chenoweth of Burlington in :24.
Spencer Sargent went 1-2. He won by sudden-death over Kameron Woods of Jayhawk-Linn, 8-6, before falling to Josh Garner of Wellsville by pin in :37, and by an 11-9 decision to Carter Lucas of Osawatomie.
Lucas Boeken went 2-1, winning by falls over Dalton Vanover of Burlington in 1:39 and Nate Dickeson of Santa Fe Trail in :23. He was pinned by Jake Doles of Wellsville in 2:41.
Isaiah Geisler went 1-2. He lost by major decision, 12-3, to Lucas Mills of Anderson County and by a 5-0 decision to Lane Warkentine of Burlington. Geisler won by major decision over Nate Bryant-Freeman of Santa Fe Trail, 15-1.
Harley Tidd went 0-3, by falls to Caden Nusz of Eureka in :50, to Donaven Crutchfield of Burlington in :43 and to Daimon Owens of Jayhawk-Linn in 2:18.
Jake Clawson took second. He won by falls over Jackson Nuessen of Burlington in 1:43 and Charels Granado of Eureka in :13. Clawson was pinned by Anthony Pasqarelli of Erie in :30.
Macy Winner went 0-3, losing in a 10-4 decision to Kenzi Carbon of Jayhawk-Linn and by falls to Ava Yanez of Wellsville in :43 and Ivy Becker of Burlington in 2:00.
Autumn Carr went 1-2, defeating Hailey Shadden of Uniontown, 9-6, and falling to Carlie Brown of Jayhawk-Linn in :23 and Khloe Grimmett of Eureka in 1:27.
Addilyn Wacker went a perfect 3-0, winning by falls over Arabella Shepherd of Eureka in 1:49, over Addisyn Drake of Humboldt in :21 and Sydney Hayes of Burlington in 2:00.
Breonna Dryden went 2-1, with decisions over Amanda Donley of Santa Fe Trail, 3-1, and by forfeit over Haylie Anderson of Humboldt. Savanna Marvin of Bluestem won by fall over Dryden at 2:04.
Kyndal Bartlett went 0-2, losing by fall to Braylynn Watson of Humboldt in :41 and by major decision to Hazel Vaughn of Jayhawk-Linn, 15-4.
