In the second set, Emily McKarnin served for 13 points for the Ponies. Iola won the third set led by the defensive play of Mikaela Platt and Abigail Taylor. Shields had two kills.
“Those kills really made the difference for us in the last set,” said Muffy Fehr, IMS seventh-grade head coach. “It was an exciting win and a great way to start the season.”
The seventh-grade B-team lost 25-19, 25-17. Allyson Hobbs, Bobbi Sinclair, Bayleigh Weide and Brynna Hollins served well for the Ponies. Morgan Wilson and Brittney Stanturf played well defensively.

“Kyra played the net well  and Emma had some great attacks at the net. Torrie came in and had an all around great game.”
Columbus won the B-team match 25-15, 25-6. Shelby Smith had an ace serve and a kill. Trilby Bannister, Ashley Cary, Morgan Wilson and Lauren Hunt each had an ace serve.
