IMS track ends season at league meet in Garnett

GARNETT — The Iola Middle School track and field team ended its season at the Pioneer League meet in at Anderson County on Thursday. 

The eighth-grade boys led the way with a third-place finish and the seventh-grade boys and the seventh and eighth-grade girls each placed sixth. 

For the eighth-grade boys, Kaster Trabuc won the 3200 with a time of 11:31.75 and Kyler Mittermeier took second in the 100-meter hurdles (17.36). Justin McCullough finished second in the shot put (38’0”). 

Carter Hutton took third in the 400 with a time of 57.84 and Jesse Taylor took third in the 800 (2:30.19) and the 1600 (5:32.65). 

Both the 4×200 relay team (1:53.74) and the sprint medley (2:01.82) finished third. 

The seventh-grade boys were led by Korbin Cloud who took third in the 1600 (5:48.52). 

Japeth Rutoh took third in the high jump with a height of 4’04”.

The eighth-grade girls were led by a second-place performance in the 100 by Caiden Cloud with a time of 18.89. 

The 4×100 (57.62), 4×400 (5:00.01) and the sprint medley teams (2:22.26) each took third. 

For the seventh-grade girls, Abigail Meiwes (6:53.99) and Keira Fawson (15:07.06) each took third in the 1600 and the 3200 respectively. 

Emily Atwell took third in the 100-meter hurdles (20.93) and the 4×400 team also finished third with a time of 5:22.92.
