Iola Middle School girls basketball hit the road to play Wellsville on Monday and struggled as all three teams came away with a loss.

The seventh-grade junior varsity fell 12-19.
The Ponies were only down by two after the first quarter but a 7-0 second quarter gave Wellsville the cushion they needed to win. Iola outscored the home team 10-6 in the second half but it wouldn’t be enough.
Celina Caron had five points while Kaiden Smith, Louise Caron and Caiden Cloud each had two points. Dallyn McGraw had one point.
McGraw led the way with five rebounds and two blocks. Celina and Louise Caron had five and four steals each.
The second quarter was also a place of struggle for the seventh-grade varsity, losing 19-25 thanks in part to a 9-0 second quarter after ending the first quarter tied up at 6-all.

Asha Houk had the lion’s’ share of the Ponies points with 15 on 7-18 shooting including 1-3 from behind the arc. Celina Caron and Cali Riley each chipped in two points.
