“It’s not the result we wanted on the scorebook but these girls are still improving. We saw them run their offense and shoot the ball with confidence. We are so excited to see more improvements,” said Iola head coach Stacy Sprague.

The Iola Middle School Mustangs girls basketball teams lost all three of their matchups against Prairie View on Monday night.

The eighth grade varsity Mustangs fell to the Buffalos, 25-17.

Iola’s Brooklyn Holloway scored nine points while Zoie Hesse and Dally Curry sank four points apiece.

“It’s not the result we wanted on the scorebook but these girls are still improving. We saw them run their offense and shoot the ball with confidence. We are so excited to see more improvements,” said Iola head coach Stacy Sprague.

The Iola seventh grade varsity team stumbled to Prairie View, 22-12.

Mustangs Addilyn Wacker and Bella Wilson had four points apiece while Lillie Bingham and Jordyn Potter each bucketed two points.

“We improved on rebounding but are still working on putting it all together and how to protect the ball,” Sprague said.

The seventh and eighth grade junior varsity Mustangs lost 25-11.

Keysha Smith scored eight points to lead Iola, followed by Estavia Grenoble’s two points and Zoe Warner’s one point.

“This is such a great improvement. The girls are working so hard. They are starting to put pieces together,” said Sprague.
