INDEPENDENCE — The Iola Middle School girls basketball team traveled to Independence on Thursday for yet another road game in the early season.
The Ponies’ eighth-grade A team lost 23-15. Gabby Richards had six points and five rebounds. Kelsey Morrison recorded five points and eight boards.
“Kelsey fouled out with about four minutes left, down by three and we didn’t respond very well,” said coach Marty Taylor. “Another good effort but we have to start finishing games.”
The eighth-grade B team lost 21-19.
The seventh-grade A team lost 28-11. Andi Reynolds had four points.
The seventh-grade B team lost 26-4. Britain Folk and McKenna O’Rear each had two points.
