COFFEYVILLE — Iola High’s golfers had another tough day on the links.
The Mustangs were short-handed because several of the varsity golfers attended the funeral of a schoolmate’s mother.
The Mustangs ended up 11th out of 11 teams at Coffeyville Field Kindley High’s Invitational Tuesday.
Coffeyville won on its home course with a team score of 332. Pittsburg was second at 339, followed by Chanute at 340 in the Southeast Kansas League designated tournament.
“The kids who competed did all right,” said Rick Horton, coach.
Iola’s top golfer was Zach Crawford, who shot a 92 (44-48) tying for 29th. Rocky Smith carded a 98 (48-50).
Jarrett Mosbrucker finished at 111 (54-57). Hayden Wolf shot 118 (55-63) and Dean Headley 144 (71-73).
The Mustangs play in Monday’s Chanute Invitational, the final league designated tournament.
