IHS freshman teams play in tournament

FORT SCOTT — Iola High’s freshman boys and girls are playing in a round-robin tournament hosted by Fort Scott High School this week.
Monday night, the freshman Fillies lost 54-11 to Chanute. Alexa Fawson had six points and Breanna Stout toss-ed in four.
The Mustang freshmen lost 55-26 to Fort Scott Monday. Mason Coons led Iola with 11 points.
Eli Grover added five points and Garrett Cat-ron had four. Scoring two points each were Levi Ashmore, Shelton Reno and Jacob Harrison.
Iola’s girls play Jayhawk-Linn today at 5 p.m. at the Fort Scott High gym.
The IHS  boys play Chanute at 6:30 at Fort Scott’s Buck Run Community Center.
On Friday, the Fillies play Fort Scott at 5 p.m. at the high school and the Mustangs take on Jayhawk-Linn at 5 p.m. at Buck Run.
