The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism will be offering a Hunter Education Class at Elks Lake at 24410 Elk Road in Chanute on Friday, Feb. 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 16 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturdays class will be outside so students should dress accordingly in addition to packing a sack lunch and drink.
Students 11 years or older can take the class which is free to all but they must pre-register online at www.safehunters.com due to limited class size.
