The Humboldt Cubs took their show on the road Monday and both the baseball team and softball team were able to continue their undefeated seasons against Caney Valley.
The baseball team won 3-1 and 11-0 and were led by their outstanding pitching.
In game two, Daylon Splane was perfect through five innings, before the game was called due to lightning. Splane struck out six batters in the game.
“Daylon was really good in game two for us,” Humboldt coach Mike Miller said. “He mixed his pitches well and attacked their hitters.”

The Humboldt ace threw seven innings and only allowed five hits and one run. He struck out nine Caney Valley hitters.
“Jake was really good,” Miller said. “We had some uncharacteristic errors behind him, but he was able to pitch around them and work out of some jams.”
