BLUESTEM — Humboldt High’s track season will continue for a number of athletes at the Class 3A State Track Meet on Friday and Saturday in Wichita.
In the class 3A regional meet on Friday, Bryce Isaac qualified for the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 10 inches. That was the 14th best mark of the 16 state qualifiers. For the triple jump, Isaac qualified with a leap of 41’8”. That was eighth best of all qualifiers. Isaac also ran the 200-meter dash in 24.25 seconds, second best at the regional and 14th best time of all qualifiers.
Joe Kline will be representing the Cubs in two events. He qualified for the 3200m run with a time of 10 minutes and 54 seconds. His time is the 15th best of the 16 runners that qualified for event at state. However, the 8-15 slots are separated only by 14 seconds. Kline also qualified for the 1600m run with a time of 4:47.10. That was the ninth best qualifying time of the 16 runners.
Ethan Bartlett made it to state in the 400m dash with a time of 52.96 seconds. That was the second best time at his regional and 10th best qualifying time.
In the 800m run, Andrew Keazer qualified with a time of 2:10.85; the 15th best qualifying time.
Justin Meins and Kyle Doolittle each made it in the 300m intermediate hurdles. Meins posted a time of 43.15 seconds and Doolittle made it with a 44.34 mark. The best qualifying time went to Riverside’s Andrae McGaughy with a time of 39.85 seconds. Meins also qualified in the high jump with a leap of 6’.
Colin Gillespie took fourth overall in the high jump with a mark of 5’6”. He won a jumpoff which sends him to the state meet.
Britnee Works leaped over 4’8” in the high jump to make it to state. She had the 13th highest mark.
The boys 4x100m relay team — Logan Roseberry, Doolittle, Meins and Bartlett — qualified with a time of 47.51 seconds. The boys 4x400m relay team — Isaac, Meins, Roseberry, Bartlett — also will compete at state. They finished first at their regional with a time of 3:37.01. The boys 4x800m relay team — Keazer, Kline, Bartlett and Anthony Doran — finished with a time of 8:42.90 for the 11th fastest qualifying time.
The girls 4x800m relay team — Annalise Whitcomb, Kaiti Carpenter, Haylie Yost and Cara Bartlett — had an 11:32.65 mark to get to the state meet.
The Class 3A State Track Meet takes place on the grounds of Wichita State University.
