HUMBOLDT — With no slow downs or stops in the action, the OCRS Sprint Cars zoomed around the dirt track at Humboldt Speedway.
The 25-lap feature race went to Danny Smith, who hadn’t won an Oil Capital Racing Series feature in almost a year. Smith used his pole position to get the lead and keep it.
Jamie Passmore finished second in the sprint car race which completed the program on Friday at the Speedway. Mike Goodman ran third followed by Kyle Clark and Tim Kent.
Tim VanGotten got it done on the track, winning the B-mod feature. Unfortunately, VanGotten’s car didn’t pass the technical inspection following the race.
With that disqualification, Ron Bolin Jr. moved up a notch and captured the B-Mod win. Jimmy Davis finished second as Jay Lamons Jr. was third. Dalton Kirk placed fourth and Steven Trester was fifth.
A 17-car field packed the pure stock feature race. Roger Oswald drove the middle of the pack to take the lead and finish first. Tony Morris had a strong run for second place.
Laura Ramey came across in third place. David Matlock placed fourth and Mike Aiello round out the top five.
Drivers in the factory stock feature kept the suspense going throughout as there were several lead changes. At the checkered flag, Tyler James was the winner. John Rosson ran second followed by Brandon Tindle, Colton Bunn and Tim Phillips.
Brian Bolin led the modified feature wire-to-wire. Scott Daniels finished second with Jesse Folk Jr. in third place. Steve Becker took fourth and Ryan Whitworth was fifth.
This Friday is Kids’ Night. Drivers will sign autographs in the infield at halftime so bring markers.
Gates open a 6 p.m. with races at 8 o’clock. Trophies are sponsored by Americna Family Insurance of Chanute.
Also Saturday is the Allen County Fair Demolition Derby at Humboldt Speedway. Gates open at 5 p.m. and action starts at 7 p.m.
