CHERRYVALE — Humboldt Middle School’s boys continued their spotless play Tuesday.
The Cubs traveled to Cherryvale and came home with a 45-28 victory.
“It was a great team win,” head coach Jeremy Weilert said as Humboldt moved to 7-0.
Colden Cook had 14 points and five rebounds, as well as three assists and three steals.
Logan Page was next with 12 points and two steals. Asher Hart scored nine, Jacob Harrington five, Blake Ellis three and Avery Works two. Mason Sterling had six rebounds and Works four.
Humboldt’s B team also prevailed, 29-22, to improve to 6-1.
“The players worked hard to pick up another win,” Weilert said.
Sterling scored nine points with three steals. Creed Shannon, Layne Ellison, Conner Sallee and Works all had four points. Jaryt Hess and Kyler Isbell both had two points. Isbell and Gray both had two steals. Works pulled down six boards.
HUMBOLDT’S girls were idle Tuesday. On Monday, the Lady Cub A and B teams fell in road games at Eureka.
The A team fell, 42-10. McKenna Jones scored six points and had a pair of steals and four rebounds for Humboldt. Shelby Shaugnessy and Chanlynn Wrestler had two points apiece. Shaughnessy also had four rebounds. Skylar Hottenstein had four steals, Wrestler three and Jones two.
Eureka defeated Humboldt’s B team, 25-13.
Sydnea Bumstead led the Lady Cubs with four points and seven rebounds. Josey Ellis had three points. Laney Hull, Gayli Reno and Rylee Woods all had two points. Woods and Hull had three and two steals, respectively.
