Humboldt M.S. struggles at Neodesha

NEODESHA — The Humboldt Middle School varsity and junior varsity teams combined to go 0-4 on Monday in Neodesha.
The Cub boys’ varsity lost 30-25 with Drew Wilhite leading the team in scoring with 10 points and Thane Meadows adding eight.
The Humboldt girls’ varsity fell 43-23. Isabelle Murrow and Jessie Myers each scored eight points to pace the Cub offense.
“We did some really good things tonight, but we did more bad things than good things,” Humboldt girls coach Scott Brady said about his 5-8 team with one game left in the season against Leon-Bluestem on Thursday on the road.
The Cub boys’ junior varsity lost 26-18.
Aden Kelley scored five points for Humboldt while Trenton Johnson, Colton Slocum and Ethan Doepke each had four.
The Humboldt junior varsity girls lost 21-19.
Autumn Ballard led the team with six points while Zoey Wilson had five and Kirsten Kobold added four.
Both Humboldt C-Teams were able to pick up wins.
The boys team beat Neodesha 8-4 with Kelley scoring all eight points for the Cubs.
The girls won 10-4 with a 20- minute running clock.
Brooklyn Ellis had six points and Peyten Galloway had four.
“Last game for this group,” Brady said of his C-Team. “Nice way to wrap up the year.”
