Humboldt hosts Crest, Marmaton Valley

HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt High JV volleyball team hosted Marmaton Valley and Crest on Monday night.
The Cubs fell to the Wildcats in three sets to begin the night (25-15, 16-25, 15-13).
Magie Stevenson and Patricia Outlan led the way for Marmaton Valley, earning 13 points and 22 kills on the night, respectively.
Outlan also boosted the Wildcats on defense with four blocks.
“It was an exciting win against Humboldt,” Marmaton Valley JV coach Jamie Stodgell said. “I am very proud of how the girls worked together to get the victory.”
Marmaton Valley went on to defeat Crest with that contest going two sets (25-22, 25-9).
Humboldt also beat Crest in its second game of the night by winning in two straight sets (25-10, 25-20).
The Cubs finished their game against the Wildcats with 13 total kills and nine attacking errors.
Humboldt also recorded seven service aces and two service errors.
Against the Lancers, the Cubs needed just six kills to earn the victory while recording four attacking errors.
They also had nine service aces and five service errors.
Marmaton Valley and Crest both continue their volleyball seasons today while Humboldt’s next game is Saturday.
