FREDONIA — The Humboldt High golf team matched up against Burlington Tuesday.
Burlington came out on top in the dual-school meet combining for a score of 404 against Humboldt’s 479. William Kobold had Humboldt’s lowest score, 115.
Creed Shannon shot a 120 for the Cubs. Shannon’s best hole was No. 15 at three strokes.
Brennen Nuessen and Aiden Galloway each shot totals of 122. Galloway’s hole 15 was his best, making it in three strokes. Nuessen shot the 10th and 15th holes in three strokes each.
Curt Shannon shot a 129. Shannon’s best hole was a three-stroke 15 hole.
Layne Ellison had a 140 final score. His best hole was a four-stroke sixth hole.
Burlington’s Ryan Hoyt led the teams by shooting a 90, followed by teammate Jayce Briggs who shot a 97. Ty Steffens shot a 104 while Kasten Payer shot a 113, Isaac Rinker shot a 118 and Casey Bland shot a 154.
Humboldt meets at the Buck Quincy Invitational in Iola next Monday at 11 a.m.
