High School Golf: Humboldt Cubs
The Humboldt golf team competed in the Tri-Valley league meet in Fredonia on Monday.
Ryan Sellman fought his way to a second-place finish with a 79. Sellman birdied on a playoff hole to get the silver medal.
Drake Hottenstein shot a 110, Reid Smith shot a 111 and Roni Bulk shot a 125.
Ryan had one of his best meets of the season and placing second at league is quite an accomplishment, head coach Eric Sparks said. Drake, Reid, and Roni all had good days as well. They know that they can shoot much better scores if they can eliminate a few bad holes. Overall, I thought it was a good tournament for us going into regionals.
The Cubs will compete in the Caney Valley regional at the Sedan Golf Course on Monday.
