The Humboldt track team came away big from the Yates Center track meet Tuesday. The girls took first overall and the boys finished second.
This is the first time in my 16 years and the first time since the early 1990s that our girls team has won a meet, Cubs head coach Eric Carlson said. Our girls all worked hard and did a great job competing.
The Lady Cubs had their share of first-place finishes starting with junior Kaylie Johnson who finished on top in three events including the long jump (15 feet, 7 inches) and triple jump (33 feet, 7.5 inches).
The Humboldt girls three relay teams all came in first place.
