Houk, Query qualify for 2A state golf tourney

FORT SCOTT — Marmaton Valley High’s Dalton Houk and Uniontown High’s Justin Query qualified for the Kansas Class 2A State Golf Tournament.
Houk shot a 92 and finished 13th at Monday’s Kansas Class 2A Regional Golf Tournament. Query, who is going to his fourth straight state tournament, had a 93 for the 18-hole tournament for 14th.
Pittsburg-Colgan won the team title at the regional hosted by Uniontown High School. The Panthers had a 321 on the Fort Scott Country Club Course.
Lyndon was second with 347 led by regional champion Nick Walsh, who shot a 70. Jayhawk-Linn was third with a 349.
Marmaton Valley’s James Allison had a 101 and Dillon Yeager shot a 132.
Uniontown’s Chance Hoener carded a 122.
Houk and Query will play in the state tournament next Monday at Pittsburg’s Crestwood Golf Course.
