He started out in the yard of Iola High principal David Grover’s home then moved to IHS athletic director Martin Bambick’s yard.
On Sunday, he and his followers were grazing in the front yard of Glenda and Kevin Pargman.
The IHS Mustang head and several small mustangs are out to make the rounds and to make some money for the IHS student council this week.
“We picked the first yard to put them in then it’s up to the yard owners to decide where they go next — for a price,” said Doug Stewart, student council treasurer.
“For $5, we’ll come remove them from the yard. For $10, we’ll remove them and the yard owner can tell us where to put them next. For $20, they are removed, we place them where requested and insure they won’t come back to your yard.”
There is an explanation of the project plus instructions, including telephone numbers, on the Mustang head.
Stewart said the project will go on throughout this week and possibly into next week.
The project kicked off 2010 IHS Fall Homecoming Week. Iola High students have dress-up days throughout the week — today has been Marv Monday (dress like Marv Smith), Tie-Die Tuesday; Wild West Wednesday, 80’s Workout-Thursday and Friday is Blue and Gold Day.
A bonfire is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Riverside Park. The annual homecoming parade is at 2:20 p.m. Friday around the Iola square.
The crowning ceremony for the queen and king starts at 6:15 p.m. Friday at the football stadium in Riverside Park. The Mustangs play the Columbus High Titans at 7 p.m.
The IHS homecoming dance is Saturday 7:30 to 11 p.m.
