The Humboldt Middle School track team competed at the Tri-Valley League meet at Fredonia on Monday. The seventh and eighth-grade boys finished sixth and the seventh and eighth-grade girls took seventh.
For the seventh-grade boys, Garren Goodner took third in the shot put with a distance of 292.5 and sixth in the discus (704.5).
Sam Hull took fourth in the high jump with a height of 46 and fourth in the long jump with a distance of 134.
Byron Westbrook finished fourth in the 200 (32.33).
Maddox Johnson and Aiden Gean each took second for the eighth-grade boys. Johnson finished second in the discus with a distance of 1099 and Gean took second in the 100 with a time of 12.6.
Javyn Hess took third in both the 3200 (13:30.30) and the 800 (2:37.63) and Dakota Slocum took fourth in the pole vault (76).
The 4×100 team consisting of Gean, Hess, Kaufman and Slocum each took sixth with a time of 55.12 and the medley team of the same runners came in fifth (2:05.33).
The 4×200 team of Brennen Nuessen, Eli Works, William Kobold and Kaufman finished sixth with a time of 2:20.44.
For the seventh-grade girls, Ashlynn Works took second in the discus with a distance of 655 and Kenisyn Hottenstein came in third in the shot put (303.25) followed by Elizabeth White who finished fourth (298).
Danica Modlin took third in the 1600 (7:22.64) and the medley relay team of Modlin, Works, Hottenstein and Shelby Daniels finished sixth (2:36.24).
For the eighth-grade girls, Elizabeth Melendez took third in the 3200 (16:25.27) and fourth in the 1600 (7:04.95).
Morgan Sterling took fourth in the pole vault with a height of 56 and Morgan Hunter placed fourth in the 75-meter hurdles.
Melina Hess took third in the 1600 (6:51.99) and in the 800 (3:00.43).
Carsyn Haviland placed fifth in the 75-meter hurdles (14.85) and sixth in the shot put (14.85). Karley Wools finished fourth in the 400 (1:15.26).
The 4×100 team of Camryn Brill, Morgan Sterling, Haviland and Wools took fourth with a time of 59.71 and the 4×200 team of Brill, Melina Hess, Wools and Hunter placed fifth with a time of 2:17.62.
