The Humboldt Middle School track team competed in the Terry Lower Invitational in Iola on April 9.
The eighth-grade boys placed highest out of the four Cub teams with a 10th-place finished out of 20 teams.
Maddox Johnson took first in the discus with a distance of 12010 and fifth in the shot put with a distance of 3410.
Aiden Gean took seventh in the long jump (165.5) and Javyn Hess took eighth in the 3200 (13:12).
The seventh-grade boys team took 11th.
Garren Goodner won the shot put with a distance of 333.5 and Sam Hull took third in the high jump (46).
The eighth-grade girls took 13th.
Melina Hess took sixth in the 1600 (6:48) and seventh in the 800 (2:57).
Elizabeth Melendez took fifth in the 3200 with a time of 15:55 and Kaitlyn Krone took fifth in the discus (7111).
The seventh-grade girls finished in 12th place.
Kenisyn Hottenstein took second in the shot put with a distance of 292.
Ashlynn Works took second in discus with a throw of 68 and Elizabeth White took fourth in the shot put (288.5).
Shelby Daniels finished eighth in the long jump (1110.5).
The Cubs will compete at Neodesha on Monday.
