HMS Cubs sweep past Bluestem on Thursday

On Thursday, the Humboldt Middle School boys wrapped up their second-to-last game of the season at home and walked away with three wins versus Leon-Bluestem.
The eighth-grade boys won 18-6.
The Cubs were shutout in the first half 6-0 but came back strong in the second half, scoring 18 points while shutting out Bluestem.
Drew Wilhite had 10 points while Hunter Bauer, Ethan Doepke, Colton Slocum and William Todd each had two points. Doepke and Todd had seven rebounds, Slocum had three rebounds and Bauer had one rebound.
The seventh-graders won 22-19.
Humboldt trailed throughout the game but was able to charge ahead in the fourth quarter and hold on for the win.
Trey Sommer had 11 points and six rebounds in the win. Maddox Johnson had eight points and eight  rebounds. Brennen Nuessen had one point and five rebounds.
The Cub C-Team won 9-7.
Andrew Watts had six points and nine rebounds, Eli Works had two points and two rebounds and Robbie Myers had one point and a rebound.
The Cubs will host Galesburg for their final game of the season tonight. The game is rescheduled from January 11.
