On Thursday, Region VI announced its All-Region team for the 2019-20 men’s basketball season. Allen Community College’s Malik Hardom received first-team honors.
In his sophomore season for the Red Devils, Hardmon finished second in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference, averaging 19.2 points per game. Hardmon also finished fourth in rebounding at 8.1 per game.
The KJCCC awarded Hardmon as a member of its All-Conference first team, along with sophomore guard Joel Boyce, who earned second-team honors.
Hardmon’s signature performance this season came against Hutchinson Community College on Jan. 4, where he scored 39 points on 20 attempts from the floor, along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Hardmon led the Red Devils on an 11-game winning streak spanning across November, December, and January. ACC finished the season with a 16-15 mark, its second consecutive season over .500.
So far, Hardmon has received looks from several NCAA Division I universities, including Jacksonville State, Eastern Illinois, Portland State, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and South Carolina State. Division II programs like Chaminade, St. Mary’s in San Antonio, San Angelo State, and more are also calling each day. The spread of COVID-19 has stalled Hardmon’s spring visits.
