Fredonia’s Kyle Eggers had the low round of the day, taking first place with a score of 71. Caney Valley’s 332 was the best team score. Humboldt took fifth as a team at 453. With only three golfers, Yates Center did not register a team score.

ERIE — Yates Center High’s Jack King carded a 75 to tie for second Monday at the Erie Invitational Golf tournament. 

King was relegated to third through a scorecard playoff on a windy, but otherwise pleasant day on the links.

Elsewhere, Humboldt’s Brennen Neussen recorded his lowest score of the season with a 97 to take 15th overall.

“After the first few holes the weather cleared up and, although windy, was a nice day out on the course,” Cub head coach Bret Hauser said. “Brennen played well.”

Yates Center’s Zeno Jimenez took 18th with his score of 100, while Cam DeWitt scored 167 for 37th.

Colton Johnson and Colton Slocum finished two strokes apart at 112 and 114 strokes, respectively. Johnson took 27th; Slocum 28th. Cooper Woods scored 130 for 32nd, Stephen Lego finished 34th at 135 and William Kobold took 36th at 142.
