EUREKA — Crest High’s Kurston Gilliland was a three-time medalist, while Jordan Morton picked up two medals Thursday at the Eureka Invitational Track Meet.
Gilliland was a force in the throwing competitions. She earned gold in the javelin, with a distance of 119 feet, 9 inches, and took second in both the discus and shot put. Her discus throw went 98’6”; her shot put distance was 38’2”.
On the boys’ side, Morton won the javelin with a throw of 171’2”. Morton then picked up the fourth-place medal in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.62 seconds.
Others earning high marks for Crest were Dylan Sedlak, who took third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 45.38 seconds, and Rene Rodriguez, took fifth in long jump with a distance of 18’4 1/2”.
Crest also traveled to Pleasanton Tuesday for a track meet. Results from that competition will be in Thursday’s Register.
