Free youth trap shoot on Oct. 8

The fifth annual Eastern Kansas Free Youth Trap Shoot for children, 16 and younger, is Oct. 8.
The trap shoot will be held that Saturday at the Lone Tree Gun Club which is about 5 miles west of Elsmore. The gun club is on the northwest corner of Delaware Rd. & 3000 St.
Boys and girls are encouraged to participate but parent supervision is required. The event goes from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
There are two shooting age groups — 13 to 16 and 12 and under. Highest shooter in each age group wins a shotgun.
Fifty shells and clay targets will be provided to youth shooters, 25 for practice round and 25 for competition.
Shooters breaking 11 or more clay targets out of 25 may select a prize donated by sponsors. Shooters breaking 10 or less clay targets out of 25 receive a Lone Tree Gun Club gift certificate to shoot 50 free clay targets. Participants must provide their own shotgun shells.
An open trap shoot begins at 3 p.m.
There will be a drawing for a Model 391 Beretta shotgun during the event.
