PITTSBURG — Iola High’s Jazmyne Honeycutt and Seth Walden are among the 40 basketball players from Southeast Kansas named to play in Sunday’s fourth annual U.S. Army/Army Strong All-Star Game.
Also on the rosters are fellow seniors Abbie Smith of Uniontown High, Tevin Strack of Humboldt High and Bryan Newton of Crest.
The all-star games start at 1 p.m. Sunday with the girls playing first followed by the boys. The games are at the Pittsburg St. Mary’s-Colgan High Fieldhouse.
The games are sponsored by KSEK and KLKC Radio of Pittsburg and the U.S. Army.
In addition to the games, there will be three-point shooting contests for both girls and boys and a dunking contest for the boys.
Players were selected to play in the game through a coaches’ poll conducted at the conclusion of the basketball season. All senior players from the Three Rivers, CNC, and SEK leagues (along with five teams from the Tri-Valley) were eligible for the game.
