PARSONS — Iola High’s Fillies faltered in a Southeast Kansas League doubleheader Monday at Parsons.

Parsons High’s Lady Vikings defeated the Fillies 15-0 in four innings in the opener. They posted an 8-2 victory in the second game.

The Fillies dropped to 2-8 in SEK play and 2-9 overall. They go to Humboldt Friday to play in the annual Lindsey Friederich Memorial Softball Tournament.

In the first game with Parsons, Iola’s lone hit was a single by Lauren Toney to lead off the game.

Iola scored two runs in the third inning of the second game. Katie Shields singled and scored on a one-out triple by Toney. Other hits in the game were two doubles by B. Thompson, two singles by Libby Shay and a single by Hannah Endicott.

Mackenize Weseloh and B. Thompson pitched for Iola. Parsons had three hits. Iola had eight errors.

Iola High’s baseball team did not play Monday against Parsons because the Parsons’ baseball field was being used the Labette Community College playing Allen Community College. The junior college games had been rained out over the weekend. The Mustang-Viking games were moved to May 4 at Parsons.

The Mustangs (5-3) play in Friday’s annual Humboldt High’ Walter Johnson Baseball Tournament in Humboldt. They take on Neodesha at noon on the Walter Johnson Field.
