Iola High’s junior varsity girls’ tennis players played in back-to-back tournaments Monday and Tuesday.
On Tuesday they were in Chanute.
Abbey St. Clair took sixth as Iola’s No. 1 singles player. She lost 6-0 to Taylor Mason of Independence then took a 6-4 decision against Beth Ungles of Chanute Gold.
St. Clair lost to Megan Reed of Pittsburg but no score was available.
In No. 2 singles, Megan Smith finished fourth. She won a tough match against Haley Markham of Chanute Gold, 6-5 (10-8).
Smith lost 6-1 to Jennifer Nickerson of Parsons and 6-0 to Brittany Wilde of Pittsburg.
Iola’s No. 1 doubles team of Makayla Robb and Katie Lieurance lost three. They lost 6-0 to Harns and Jump of Parsons and 6-2 to Chanute Gold (no players names available) and 6-2 to Christiansen and Fehr of Chanute.
Brittany Porter and Patricia Haner played No. 2 doubles for Iola. They lost 6-4 to Cervantez and Olson of Chanute Blue, 6-2 to Caylor and Barnow of Chanute and 6-2 to Bennett and Ethridge of Chanute Gold.
On Monday, the Fillies were in Neodesha.
St. Clair dropped three 6-1 decisions in No. 1 singles. She lost to Elyse Merritt of Labette County, Michaela Davied of Neodesha and Bailey Braschler of Coffeyville.
Smith and Porter played as Iola’s No. 1 doubles team, losing all three matches by the 6-0 count. They lost to Kelsey Baker and Paige Wells of Labette County, Melody Royer and Kelsey Jaynes of Neodesha and Rachael Jones and Tiasa Huls of Coffeyville.
In No. 2 doubles, Robb and Haner lost three. They lost 6-1 to Tiffani Sexton and Kayla Kabrey of Labette County, 6-1 to Grovana and Klaudia of Neodesha and 6-2 to Melody Harrell and Chelsie Burroughs of Coffeyville.

The Iola varsity players are at Coffeyville Thursday then the Southeast Kansas League tournament Saturday in Chanute.
The Kansas Class 4A regional tournament is Oct. 8-9 in Parsons.
