Iola High’s Fillies didn’t get to play Fort Scott High’s Tigers in regular season softball action.

The two Southeast Kansas League teams will take to the softball field against each other Monday. There will be more on the line in the contest than SEK marks.

Iola is the No. 6 seed in next week’s 2012 Kansas Class 4A Regional Softball Tournament at Paola. The eight-team regional is hosted by Paola High School.

The Fillies (4-12) play third-seeded Fort Scott (9-7) at 4 p.m. Monday on Lou Baehr Field in Paola. In the same side of the bracket are No. 2 seed Prairie View (14-4) and No. 7 Anderson County (2-16), who play after the Iola-Fort Scott contest.

Winners of those two games meet in a semifinal game at 4 p.m. Tuesday on the same field.

There is an admission fee for the regional tournament at Paola.

Top-seeded Paola High’s Panthers (19-1) take on No. 8 seed Osawatomie (1-17) at 5:45 p.m. Monday on Julie Silver Field. Just ahead of that game will be No. 4 Louisburg (7-13) and No. 5 Ottawa (6-14) at 4 p.m.

The winners play at 4 p.m. Tuesday on Julie Silver Field in a semifinal.

The championship game is at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. On the line is a berth in the 2012 Kansas Class 4A State Softball Tournament, May 25-26, in Salina.

Iola concludes regular-season play tonight at Columbus. It is the Fillies’ final SEK doubleheader. Iola moves to the Pioneer League next year.
