The Iola eighth-grade volleyball team split on the road at Burlington on Thursday.

The A-Team lost in three sets and the B-Team won in four.

The A-Team Fillies lost 7-25, 11-25 and 7-25. Dallyn McGraw had two aces, Aysha Houk had an ace and a kill, Celina Carson had an ace and Cali Riley had an assist.

“This was a tough match for us,” head coach Terri Carlin said. “Burlington is a solid team who sees the court well and places the ball into open areas. We did have some great rallies, but we weren’t able to find holes on the other side.”

The B-Team won 25-12, 25-21, 20-25 and 25-15.

Jadyn Kaufman had six aces and a kill, Caiden Cloud had four aces and an assist and Louise Caron had three aces and three kills. Abi Hirt had three aces, Macie Hoag had an ace and three assists and Carly Dreher had a kill.

Iola hosts its annual “Net Games” tournament on Saturday before playing their final league match on Monday at home versus Santa Fe Trail.
